"Building A Strong Foundation."
|
TEARS, Inc. was founded in 1996 by Mrs. Angelia
C. Walton. She built the platform of TEARS
through HIV/AIDS education to local churches and
schools. In September of 1997 the organization
received 501(c) (3)non-profit status.
Over the past few years, we have had the
privilege of working with young people of all kinds
of backgrounds. We, along with our volunteers,
have seen first hand just how much one
encouraging word or deed can truly affect the
lives of others in a positive and powerful way.
This has always been the driving force behind
our phenomenal growth and continued support
from our board members, donors, and volunteers.
TEARS created (A-ETHICS)
Abstinence Education To Help
Instill Character. Through
A-ETHICS we use two
curriculum; the CHOICE GAME
and WAIT Training. TEARS, Inc
chose the CHOICE GAME to help
educate young people in
schools, detention center, and community-based organizations of
Russell County, Phenix City, and local vicinity.
The CHOICE GAME is an interactive CD/DVD software program
that teaches healthy choices about abstinence, drugs, alcohol,
and teen pressures.
The WAIT training curriculum (Why Am I Tempted) provides a
positive, fun, and interactive curriculum. WAIT teaches subjects
such as, healthy relationship development, abstinence, and
marriage preparation. If they choose Abstinence they sign a
pledge and receive a WAIT RING.
